Mary River Festival ~ Saturday 15 July 2023

We're so happy to playing this year's Mary River Festival. The Mary is a constant in the Moonsets' life. She runs through our back yard, we spend a significant amount of time shilly-shallying about on her sandbanks and lovely pools and rapids and she sometimes leaves us on a tiny island not much bigger than our house.  She's our river; our beautiful Moocooboola.

"We the people of the Cooloola + Sunshine Coast reject New Hope Corporation's plan to mine coal 20kms west of the Great Sandy Strait.

We deplore the QLD + AUS Government's acquiescence to the mining industry's reckless expansion in the name of short term capital gain.

The Mary River is ours from Conondale to River Heads and we will not have them pour industrial filth into her on any stretch let alone so close to this crucial biosphere".

TROPICAL BLOOM FESTIVAL 28-30 July 2017

A CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY

Situated on bank of the spectacular Hedlow creek, 20 kms west of Yeppoon and overlooking stunning wetlands that are home to an abundance of bird species...Tropical Bloom is a celebration of art, culture and community. These three aspects shape the foundation of the festival. The art comes in more visual and aural forms than you can imagine. The culture we construct is a blend of indigenous, tribal, traditional and new age values and ideals. Community is the glue that bonds it all together. Caring for ourselves, each other and the environment is the central credence for creating and sustaining the vibe that inspires us to keep on dancing.

NOOSA FESTIVAL OF WATER • Sunday 25 June

And there have been few better ways to raise public awareness on preserving the natural flows than the Noosa Festival of Water which will be showcased again at Lake Macdonald on Sunday 25th June.

"Today the festival has evolved to become an annual showcase of our region's ecological attributes with a primary aim of improving community awareness of how each of us can play a part protecting and preserving our environment in our day to day lives,” she said.
