AUSTRALIAN BODY ART FESTIVAL • Saturday 8 April

The 2017 Australian Body Art Festival is set to take it's new home, Cooroy by storm on the 8 and 9 April!

The Australian Body Art Festival - the nation's premier body art event - is a colourful and creative experience for all ages. Held in Noosa hinterland town of Cooroy, the event is nothing short of extraordinary. For members of the public, it’s an event like nothing ever seen before. Boundaries are pushed as the human canvases are transformed into works of art before the crowd.

And that's why we Love It!!

Come and join The Moonsets for this year's Saturday Soiree. Meet the Artists, mingle with their exquisite canvasses and drink from the cup of creation!!

There will be food. There will be wine.

Cafe Le Monde • Sunday 2nd April

Returning to Cafe Le Monde Sunday 2nd April for another beachy arvo session. We get sand in our strings but we love it!! A tasty bar and 2 solid sets from The Moonsets 4-6pm, with the wonderfully soulful Peter Hunt takin it through til 7pm...yum.

“psytrance style jazzy rock”

Thanks very much Jai Bevan for this great shot of us from last year with our biggest fan! We're glad we're The Moonsets now for so many reasons. Somewhere between a memory and a dream The Flumes is now a name on old gig posters and dusty CD racks. Something much loved and tinkered with laid to rest. Moving on and letting go is a theme we return to again and again in song and we feel it's ripe for celebration.

The time of The Flumes has passed. Now is the time of The Moonsets.

Check out Jai's tunes, he's a great young songwriter with lots of soul

Live Shots from Solbar • Friday 24 February

Big Love to All Strings Attached and all of the groovers who ventured out to Solbar Friday night for a wild night of music, and cheers to Rob Sharkey for another stellar live shot. We're heading back into the studio to polish off the new tunes to be released very soon, so next chance to catch us live is Cafe Le Monde Sunday 2 April 🙂

SOLBAR • Friday 24th February

Stoked to be on a bill again with these crazy cats!!

"With our Debut Full Length Album release just around the corner, we want to tantalise your musical tastebuds with a sneaky showcase of songs from...Incantations for Strange Folk...Joining us are The Moonsets and The Quakers so be prepared for a musical journey through haunting dance grooves, progressive rock and all out debauchery of the gypsy punk flavour".

It's gonna be a solid and expansive night of glorious music hosted by Solbar all for five bucks! Tough to resist.

Since 2009 we've worked with ShellyM photography. In our opinion one of the best live photographers working on the Sunshine Coast, she's a great friend and a serial photographer with a sharp eye.

MORE!

The Moonsets Arrive

Firstly thankyou to everyone who came to a show, bought a CD, all the venues, festival organisers and bookers for your unswerving support over the years. We wouldn’t be here without you and are looking forward to continuing the journey with you all.

For all you long term The Flumes fans who are wondering why we would do such a thing!? Please understand we haven’t done this lightly. We are deeply attached to our name but the confusion caused by The Flumes, Flume and The Fumes has become annoying to the point of unbearable. In fact it’s got our goat and made a curry but as they say “A change is as good as a holiday” and we’re moving on.

Thank you for bearing with us while we go through this transition and please be assured that it’s a name change only and we’ll still be making the music you’ve come to know and love since 2008. We’re in it for a long time as well as a good time and are treating this as part of the natural evolution of the band.

We’ve been cooking up some new tunes in our Solar Powered studio and looking forward to sharing them with you in the New Year.

Until then…Much Love
Kayt & Steph
